We sailed the Volendam this August. We had table #9, a table of six. It was located in a small dinning room ,upper level, off the main room The Kings Room was open to view all of the main room, but in an alcove that held six tables of varied sizes. It could be shut off for private parties. It was much more quiet than the big room but you missed some of the food showmanship. We had no complaints. I do not know if your ship is of similar design. We would go back to #9 in a minute Enjoy her.Bon Voyage.

Which seating do you want? It is upper level for 5:45 and 8:00 dining. Lower level for 6:15 and 8:30 dining times. Can't recommend table numbers if we don't know which level you will be requesting.

Thanks for getting back to me. Dining time is 8:00 so we will be in the upper dining room. And YES romance. I seem to remember that the tables for two along the rail are in the 70's? I certainly do not want the first one as it seems everyone feels obligated to talk to those people sitting there.... Love to talk but just want S.O. attention during dinner!

And yes a table for two by the window would be nice, but I suspect it will be dark!

I never thought that I would like to be at a table for 2 in the middle of other tables. On our last cruise, Maasdam, we had that on the upper level. On the first night I thought I would change this. We were staying in a SA suite and thought it would not be a problem. BUT, The waiters were fanastic. I felt very comfortable there after the first 5 minutes. I like having a waiter tell me what is good on the menu. This waiter had me figured out because everything was wonderful. So my new motto is: good wait staff first, dining time 2nd and Table location last.

Are you taking someone on the cruise to romance or are you taking the cruise looking for someone to romance? The answer to your question depends on the answer you give here.:D

As I said, I am going with my S.O. meaning significant other. We have been together for 15 years and still love being together. I am still hoping someone will give me a certain # for a table to request. Thanks
