I have seen several great websites for information on New Orleans, but there is just something great about being able to look at real hard-copy brochures, maps, books, etc.

Does anyone know of a great resource for this type of information? I know that St. Louis produces a wonderful tourism guide every year and wondered if New Orleans produced something similar.

I would have posted this on the NOLA board, but his one gets SO much more traffic!

You've probably already seen these sites, but I would think you could write or call the Convention and Visitors Bureau for what you need. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

In addition to the great websites listed in the previous post, I am a big fan of the Frommer's New Orleans guide book. It has so much information on attractions, hotels, restaurants, plus practical information about how to get around town, easy to read maps (including a pull-out map), shopping, events, and much more. It offers suggestions for all age groups, interests, and price ranges.

Enjoy!

I, also, suggest Frommers guide. I've used these guides on various cities & countries for over 25 years. They offer a lot of very good information & help you make the most of your time. Matter of fact, I wouldn't go anywhere new without first consulting Frommer.

I also received my copy of the New Orleans Good Times Guide. I found out that the coupons for the hotel rates are not honored on the weekend we're sailing. Other than that, the guide has some good info.

you can request the Visitors guide from the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau from their website. the URL is New Orleans CVB (http://www.neworleanscvb.com/new_site/visitor/visrequest.cfm)
