I'm sure I read somewhere that the Regatta has both UK and US electricity sockets. Can anyone confirm that there are indeed English square 3 pin sockets or do I need to bring a travel converter or two.

No UK sockets... There are both 110v and 220v outlets in all rooms, but the 220v are the European standard - 2 round pins.
