I would like to bring some wine onboard for dinner. I noticed there is an uncorking fee. If we don't drink the entire bottle will they save it for us? And do I chill my own white wine before hand or do we bring it to them before hand?

Can not answer your questions, but........... Carnival has a fairly good wine list that should satisfy most tastes at a price similar to most land restaurants. They will save your bottle if you do not finish it, and it will be served at the proper temperature. At least if you buy it from them. Not sure about if you bring your own.
You can check out their wine list at the Carnival web site.

I have taken wine to dinner a few times. I've always chilled it myself if need be. I've been charged the corkage fee only once and they have saved the bottle for the next night every time.

But I do agree with the above poster. Carnival has a nice wine list with many reasonable priced ones. If they charge the corkage fee, which there seems to be no rhyme or reason to....then you haven't saved much money. I don't think I'll take any in the future...I get tired of lugging those heavy bottles on board.

When I receive a bottle as a sail away gift I take it to the dining room and there is never a fee. Just tell them you got it as a gift and you won't have a problem.

I always bring my own wine on board in my carry on bag. Only once have I been charged the $10.00 corkage fee. And that time only for the first bottle during that sailing, the other they opened without charge. The wine is always at my table waiting for me to arrive the next evening. The wine I bring they also sell on board although even with the cork fee I am still saving close to $10.00 (no I'm not trying to be cheap) and that's worth 2 bets for Tom at the blackjack table lol, so see, they get it anyway lol.

I've never been charged the fee but took that into consideration when tipping the waiter. I have read that others, when the waiter brought up the fee, told him they'd rather see him get a bigger tip than the cruise line make a few more bucks. Usually, I think, the waiter is quite happy to accomodate. Works out well for everyone.
Does anyone know if any of the corkage fee actually goes to the waiter, or is it just a stiff arm attmept to get us buy wine on the ship?

You have wine left over? How big is your bottle?

Never been charge a corkage fee on Carnival or Princess. Smooze your waiter a bit. Let them know it can go to him or the cruise line. Split the difference at cruise end. He makes out, you make out. Also, take the larger wine bottles with you. If you are charged, you get more bang for your buck, so to speak.
