Hi.. I hope I can keep what I need to know short..:) Is an aft cabin best choice? .. I have heard you don't have as much wind as others.. etc..The wake is pretty.. on and on.. Any thoughts on this??? Is there room service on these ships? .. I am thinking of VA class.. is there a better choice for not alot more money ? Thanks for you time:)

All cabins on all the ships have room service availability. There's a 24-hr menu, as well as a more extensive one during limited hours.
For dinner you can have what is served in the dining room if you call within the first half hour the dining room is open; delivery is at the time of your choice.
Can't help with the rest of your questions. Sorry. :o
But someone else will be along shortly! :)

Love the aft cabins - you are correct that there is less wind facing the stern than on the side, but the partitions on side facing staterooms do provide a fair bit of protection.
IMO, the SY/SS staterooms are a great value - enough extra luxuries without going all the way to the SA/SB/SC level.
(but then again, I love my jacuzzi tubs!!!)
You basically need to weigh how much time you expect to spend in your stateroom and choose accordingly.

I thought we decided that all the aft cabins were reserved for those smoking something or other, on their balconies.

Hi Nikkin -
The wake IS pretty. But you can also see it from the Lido. From a balcony on the side of the ship, we could see where we were going, rather than where we'd been. Also, Noordam's aft balconies are a bit exposed due to her rather steep rear end. Folks on the Lido can look down & see the balconies. Check out revneal's website. I think he has photos. However, some folks LOVE those aft balconies. They are extra roomy. As Brian said, it all depends on how much time you think you're gonna spend on the balcony.
We had a VD & thought the balcony plenty roomy. We also like to be mid-ship to lessen any effect of the motion. We liked our cabin so much, we booked the exact same one for our January cruise.
Room service breakfast is awesome. John always liked to go to the Lido, tho.
Hammy - George who?
