At some time in the future I'll be booking a cruise on O and I'm wondering why the O cruisers list their Roll Calls in two different areas on CC ?? Am I missing something here ? Or stupid ? or what ????

I do think some double post the roll calls attempting to garner additional posts.

It does seem many posters do not find their way to the Roll Call Forums.

I am one of those who never check the roll call forums..IMHO it is easier to post here!!

The All Other Cruises Roll Call page is hard to follow:( ......maybe we could petition cruisecritics.com to give us a roll call page just for Oceania cruises? It would sure make it easier to track roll calls!:)

I don't know how feasible it would be for CC to create a separate Roll Call page for Oceania cruisers, considering how few CC members sail with Oceania. Comparatively speaking, in any given two-week period, you'll have approximately 300 pairs of passengers embarked aboard one of the Oceania fleet. In comparison, one of the mega-ships will have carried 3000 pairs of cruisers within that identical timespan, many of whom might be computer-savvy CC members.

On our recent Black Sea cruise on the Nautica, we found only four other couples via the CC website. We "met" a few more on the OceanaCruiser YahooGroup before our sailing, but that was about it, out of the 684 passengers who were sharing the vessel with us. Oceania attracted a lot of older passengers, many of whom are not as computer-savvy as yourselves. I spent a lot of time in the computer lab helping other passengers to use Microsoft Outlook or the internet for the first time in their lives (the HCS folks were very appreciative - they gave me a bunch of extra minutes, which I still managed to burn through by the end of the cruise!).

I don't know about that, Dr. Wrong, as early as April of '05, on a 14 day Meditteranian Cruise, when we hosted the Cruise Critic Cocktail Party, there were forty five guests!
A further four, who had registered online, were no shows.
The "older" passengers that Oceania attracts are wealthier, better educated, and more cosmopolitan than most. I'd bet that nearer to 90% are online.

We could always ask for a separate roll call heading... P & O have one and it seems to be popular.
If we all write to "the powers that be" maybe they will grant our wish. ;)

Thanks for the link! I sent an email requesting a separate roll card board for Oceania, and I received a response within an hour. I think you're right - if enough people ask for a separate board, they will probably create one.

Just sent in my 2 cents worth, asking for an Oceania roll call section. If they do set one up I hope we have the opportunity to use the 1st posting to set up standards for using the title of each post so we do not end up with multiple requests to post to the same cruise. If you look at some of the heavy use roll calls such as Celebrity or Carnival you probably can find multiple requests for practically every cruise/date.

I wrote to LauraS several weeks ago sugesting that as, as many as 25% of the postings on " other cruise lines" rollcalls were for "O" it would be an idea to make an exclusive site. No response and no action as far as I can see. Perhaps if sufficient people contact Laura she may act in this matter

Princess's is set up pretty straightforward also by ship name. Once inside the name u simply look for ur sail date and waa-laa !

I usually do a search for the ship name then check the dates.
