Hi,
Just a heads up. Yesterday I checked the immigration form to see if our cabin was assigned. It was and I went to the latest HAL brochure I had which is for Europe 2007. I looked at the Westerdam deck plans to find the cabin and the number listed was shown as a VB. We had booked an SZ guarantee which was documented as such on our cruise contract.
I called our TA who called HAL. Come to find out that it was in fact listed on the HAL website and the Caribbean brochure as an SC handicapped aft wake cabin. They changed us to a non-handicap cabin in the same category and location and all is well.
The reason for this post is to let you know that DECK PLANS are not always accurate. Always check and cross-check other sources, or what you think you're paying for might not be what you get. This is the first time this has happened to us, and I alway choose a cabin from deck plans (this is our first guarantee).
Our experience could be related to a typo, or a cabin change after SOE upgrades, who knows, but my current brochure showed the assigned cabin as 3 categories lower than what we bought.
Heads UP,
GN
