I would also like to know about this category. I went ahead and booked it, however, because the price was so reasonable - cheaper than the other balconies when I booked. We are on the Verandah deck in cabin 7299. We've only been on one other cruise and was upgraded from an inside to an oceanview, but it was a bad cabin being as we were under the galley and awakened every single night for 2-3 hrs. w/carts rolling, silverware noise, etc. Surely, someone out there can give some input on this 9A category.

Some of you have read this before but new poster so I need to tell them.
I got upgraded from a guar 4a to a 9a (5243) on the Spirit in Jan 2003. It was a great room and there was no elevator noise at all. There was a lifeboat outside but it sat low and didn't block the view at all. We didn't know about the upgrade and the lady that checked us in said, you've got a great room...I'm thinking Wow, they must have really nice inside cabins. My daughter and I were in shock when we walked in since we paid $749pp for the 8 night West. Carib. If I got a good deal, I wouldn't hesitate to book it on my own. Go for it!!!

Here is a link (http://messages.cruisecritic.com/2/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=927093444&f=969097554&m=765109071) to my message thread asking a similar question on this subject. Hope it helps.

Well, my questions are now all answered regarding the 9A category! When I booked ours on the Verandah Deck, I paid $859pp which was cheaper than an 8A! Plus we get a credit from Carnival of $129pp because of our last cruise problem, so that takes it down to $730pp. It just didn't make sense to book an 8B (which is what I was going to do) when the 9A were on special. Thanks to all who posted their responses.
