Got my docs and booked for the 5/30 Pride sailing. I have a few questions for past cruisers of the Mexican Riveria.
* Is the Las Caletas excursion only available through Carnival or can I book with Vallarta Adventures? Somewhere I read that when the ship is in port, Las Caletas is for exclusive use of the cruise line.
* Which of the Stone Island tours is the best in Mazatlan? Is the ship tour different from King David or Randi?
* Has anybody taken the Sunderland Pirate Ship Cruise - the 10:30 to 2:00 one? Is it cutting it too close to make it back to the Pride by 4:00 departure?
* If I pack a case of beer in my suitcase will I get busted?
* Am I asking too many questions !!!

Ask as many Q's as you like. I can answer some. Las Caletas is only through Carnival(they have an arrangement with the vendor)
Randi gets nothing but RAVES. I have not taken her tour as horses are not my thing. I have taken the Carnival Stone Island tour, while we had a great time I beleive that it is way over priced. Take the King David tour, it is very similar. If you do have an affinity for horses take Randi without question.
The Pride is an awesome ship, enjoy!!

Hey SunDevil77,
We are on the Pride 5/30 sailing too. My TA told me my docs went in today's mail. A roll call is on the other board but there haven't been many responses yet.
This is our first cruise to the Mexican Riviera. In PV, we already booked a canopy tour through Los Veranos, $59.40 instead of $99.00 through Carnival. In Mazatlan, we are doing King David's Jungle Tour. My friend that I am traveling with will not even consider a horseback ride. In Cabo, we are just going to check out the town and Cabo Wabo.
We aren't packing beer, but we are taking a lot of other refreshments- Jack Daniels, rum, hypnotiq.... There are a lot of hints on the board for trying to sneak refreshments on board.
Keep asking questions. Everyone on CC is so helpful.

Thank you for your responses. We did Randi's happy horses several years ago and we loved it; however, we'll probably do the Stone Island tour this trip...more beach time. Is King David the best one? Is it different than the ship sponsored one?
Has anyone done the Sunderland Pirate ship in Cabo.
Thanks.
