Hi there,

I thought I read a while back, that Carnival would be able to tell you ahead of time how many kids are expected on your sailing.

Has anyone tried this?
Just curious.. last year, we only had 250 kids, and it was perfect. I tried to call Carnival, but they couldnt tell me.

anyone?

It varies. If you cruise when schools are out (spring break, holidays like Christmas, summer), then YEP, lotsa kiddies everywhere. I plan my cruises when I'm pretty much assured MOST of them are in school.

Oh Oh... Please don't misunderstand me!!

I am expecting KIDS! Actually.. I am brining my own! LOL

Last year when we went.. there were 250 kids.. as opposed to two weeks before.. the same ship had over 1200 kids!

I was just curious if we could find out ahead of time what to expect.. I thought I read that someone WAS able to find out.

Thanks!
Cathy

Hmmmm. I haven't seen a post like that, BUT surely, there could be some way of finding out. I doubt, tho, that Carnival personnel keep an exact record of how many kids will be on any particular ship. I think it's pretty much an educated guess. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Cathy I would be very interested in knowing also especially since I have been told our sailing is sold out. My only fear is we will have a bunch of High School Seniors on our ship. I have no problem with kids as long as they are well mannered and do not scream through dinner.

Is high school over with in the South??

We do not end until June....
That is why the first week of May last year was a lot better... college exams were going on, so no college kids....
and No HS kids either.

Oh well, time will tell next week!

I read a post like the a while back too. So out of curiosity I called and asked if they could tell me how many kids would be on our cruise, since we are bringing our kids also. They told me there is no way to do that, they could only tell me how many total passengers are holding reservations.

Yep... same thing with me...
they wouldn't give me any information....

Oh well... guess we will find out soon enough!

If people fill out the fun pass, Carnival should know, it may be a security issue.

Christhree...if you see kids on a cruise in Feb., it's not because their parents pulled them out of school.
Up here in the frozen tundra of the north, schools have a winter break in February, and most New Englanders take that week and head for warmer air.
My kids always have off the week starting with Presidents Day. It's a nice break for them...and yes, we have cruised during that week.
