Holland America is going to install scrubbers on the Zaandam next spring to test their feasibility. These scrubbers will wash the air coming out of the funnels to reduce emissions. I understand this is a first for this size of a vessel engine. HAL ships will also plug into local power when docked in Seattle during the Alaska season instead of running their onboard diesel generators ... also reducing airborne emissions. More info here (http://www.hollandamerica.com/media/newsRelease.do?fileName=/200608/18_Corporate_01.xml).

Kudos to HAL for taking these steps to become even more environmentally friendly!

Thanks for the info, Jim.
Gets me wondering, though, about that extension cord when they're in Seattle. It's gotta be a doozie.

Is anybody else as sick of the WSOD as I am?

Yes. I've gotten the WSOD many times today. :(
