Pre-cruise hotel booking

Has anyone used Venere.com - this would be a London hotel booking for next June 2007 - I can book either through Venere with CC confirmation guarantee or Expedia - but have to pay in full now....

I have used Venere.com a few times and as recently in May this year when my son went overseas and we used them to book a few of his hotels in Europe. They have been around quite awhile and are very reliable and the best part is that you do not need to pay until you stay! I do not believe in paying out money beforehand. A credit card guarantee is all that I am prepared to hand out.

There is a useful web-comparison site www.hotelscomparison.com (http://www.hotelscomparison.com) This is particularly useful if you have decided which Hotel you wish to book as it compares the prices of different on line booking agents. I also think it is worth checking with the Hotels direct as an increasing number undertake to match any price found on the web.

I am sure you have come across www.tripadvisor.com (http://www.tripadvisor.com) which is a site I rely on a lot for researching Hotels. It hasn't let me down yet!

I have used Venere. The only thing I didn't like was when I had to change our arrival date. The hotel wouldn't talk to me. Had to go back through Venere. I had to first cancel the original reservation, then make another. Thing is, when I went to make the revised reservation I was told "no rooms available for this date." They had a waiting list, I guess, and the first person in the queue got "our" room. :( So I had to book a different hotel.

when i last used venere it was for our italy trip and i found it most helpful in comparing hotels-- when i used it you still had to deal directly with the hotels for booking the reservation --venere was just an info site
