Were there any particular questions that you had? I hate to just start rambling on about how great the ship is and what a great time we had and what we did in ports and how good the food was and how the entertainment was great and how much fun we had doing the scavenger hunt and how super our waiters were and...well you get the picture. There have been some great reviews posted but the search doesn't work worth a darn. So just ask away and all the helpful people will spring into action. The first question will generally lead to a dozen more if you are like me and sometimes don't exactly know what to ask or where to start.

How was the boarding process in NY? Also, the men in our group want to golf in St. Thomas. Any thoughts on whether they should book through Carnival or directly with the golf course. Thanks for your help.

The actual boarding process was pretty easy once you were through that first gate in the terminal. The traffic getting to the port that morning happened to be horrendous! Four ships were leaving that same morning which means four ships were disgorging their passengers at the virtually the same time. Our original intention had been to go to the Intrepid Museum nearby before boarding and we went into the area at approximately 9:30 am or so. When we finally got through traffic and parked it was past 11 o clock so we skipped the museum. Just be prepared. Some people have breezed right through the traffic and had no problems at all. The building we were in seemed to be a bit disorganized and not well set up for processing that many people. There was also a very large contingent of travel agents going on board an hour or so before we did to tour the ship so this may have had something to do with it. We had to ask a number of people before we found the proper place to check our luggage. I don't know if you will be in the same building we were but if you are there is a sitting area up above that no one seemed to find and it is a great place to get out of the crowd. Once they do 'open the door' we had no problem checking in. Make sure all your paper work is filled out and have it ready. They have people coming along the line to remind you. It moves fairly quickly considering how many people they have to process.
Sorry about the golf thing but neither one of us play. We did however set up a pre-arranged tour of St Thomas with Godfey's (he has a web site). It is the best money we spent. A number of people here have used him and he includes everything, shopping, touring, and swimming, all in one package.

Hey cruisingsaw - my dad and I are cruising with you. There is a thread on the "roll call" board but not much discussion on it. Maybe we can get a Cruise Critic get-together started.

We're going on the June 16 Legend sailing too. Just checked out the www.nypst.com (http://www.nypst.com) site and it says only the Legend is scheduled that day.

That's great that we are the only ship going out. Coming back we will have to deal with the Victory. That website still says that the voyager is going out of NY. 5 weeks today. can't wait
