So how many midnight buffets does Carnival have on a 7 day cruise. We were on RCCL Navigator 2 months ago and they only had 1 midnight buffet plus 1 midnight deck party.

As above, only the one "Gala" buffet. But besides the Pizzaria and room service, there is some food station open just about 24/7.

I prefer lots of seafood and salads with fat free dressing. Do cruise ships serve this? What about Alaskan king crab or steamed crabs? Maybe I should introduce the chefs to Old Bay Seasoning from Maryland so they can steam their shrimp and crabs the right way.

The only crab legs I have seen on a cruise are Joe's Stone Crabs in the Super Club. I love steamed crab but have to settle for dishes with some crab in them.

CapnJackSparrow,
I could take along some Old Bay on my Victory cruise in January and present it to the chef. What do you think!

That is a great idea. That thought actually crossed my mind. I would really like to see the reactions from a taste test. Spreading a great Maryland tradition. I just hope nobody decides to confiscate it as a "suspicious" substance.

My husband went to Florida on a business trip years ago, and he ordered steamed shrimp. He said they don't use seasoning or anything down there and it tasted like crap.

CapnJackSparrow,
I never had crabs on the Destiny, but I did manage to have fish of some kind every day. They had lobster, salmon, and shrimp among others.
We just went to Captain Billy's on the Potomac River on Friday for all you can eat crabs, crab legs, and shrimp. The first seafood feast of the summer!

That's wonderful, but just in case you have such a problem in the future, see the ship's doctor right away. They have a special lotion that kill those little boogers on the spot!

The gala buffet is photographer's dream. I personally am not heartbroken to skip the midnight buffets. All cruiselines have cut back in this area I feel. It is just typical buffet food. One night on the Sensation they had purple sushi at the midnight buffet. I will never forget that! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
