Has anyone had any success in making reservations by prepaying the Pinnacle Grill at the old price of $20.00 prior to the 10/1/06 change to $30.00 taking effect?

KAK; when you made the reservation for the $20, did you have to specify the date and time? Or can you decide after you board? We're cruising next month, after the price increase, and we're not sure which day we want to eat at the PG.

You do not have to specify what date you want. Once you get on the ship you can make that decision then.

I assume there will be a card in the cabin that you use when you go to the Pinnacle. The agent at ships services said it was fine to make a reservation on board. But she did suggest doing it early to get what you want.

I made a reservation for our Oct 10 sailing on the Rotterdam. It is an open reservation and there will be a card waiting in our cabin upon arrival. We can then decide which night we'd like to enjoy dinner in the Pinnacle. Oh, and the charge was $20 per person - it showed up on my credit card statement right away.
Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

I have today booked a Let's Celebrate package, including dinner for 2 in the Pinnacle Grill on the 28th October at the current rate of $105.50. I was able to select both date and time but had the impression I didn't have to if I hadn't wanted to.

I just booked the pinnacle for our Nov Noordam sailing through ship services, $20 per person for a specific date and time, but they recommend that I go to the Pinnacle when I arrive on board to confirm.

I just did it as a bon voyage gift to ourselves and the couple cruising with us. I faxed it Saturday and haven't heard anything back so assume it went through. No, I didn't do any dates as I wanted to wait and find out when formal nights are. NMNita

Nita,
I too sent a fax on Saturday the same as you have, sending a Bon voyage gift to my DH and booking the Pinnacle. We are too far away to ring so this was the best way for us to do the booking.
I have been watching my Amex account and nothing has come through as yet so yesterday I sent an email to Ship's Services together with the copy of the fax and I still haven't heard back.
We sail on the 24th and will be leaving home on the 21st so I am not sure what to do now. Any thoughts!

I too had sent a Fax back in late August and heard nothing and my card was not charged. We are UK residents and our cruise departs 25th October.
I telephoned Ships Services yesterday, got straight through and made my booking at current prices. I did mention that I had sent a Fax and was advised that they do not process those until about 2 weeks before sailing date. I was also assured that my booking would not be duplicated.
I would recommend 'phoning to be sure of getting the current price. My call was made at 10:00 (am) hours Seattle time which is perhaps why I got straight through. International calls are relatively cheap these days and I think it's worth a try, you can always hang up!

Bouff,
Would you mind giving me the phone number you called Ship's Services. I will give them a call if nothing has happened by early next week. Unfortunately, if I wanted to call Seattle at 10am, I would have to set the alarm here for 3am and of course we are a day ahead but that isn't such a problem.
Also, hoping to save the extra $10p.p before it is increased, I do not want to spend that on International phone calls as it defeats the purpose. It might be a reasonable cost for you from the U.K. but I think it is quite an expensive proposition from here.

Thanks for the number but this morning there was an email waiting for me from Will Chase who looks after the Veendam bookings and he confirmed our order. So I can now breathe a sigh of relief. ;)

On the Oosterdam (Mexico), is there a night that I should not book the Pinnacle? For instance, a certain night in the dining room that something they serve is a must have????

How far in advance can you book and get the old price? We're cruising the Westerdam in January.

:o Thanks to everyone who responded to my question. I too have now made reservations for December at the "old" rate of $20.00 pp. This has to be the greatest board going;)

Just called the 800 number and got my reservation for our Jan. 28 sailing on the Westerdam. The very nice girl at HAL told me I could confirm day/time now or when we board. We will wait til we board. Thanks to all!

We are NZ based and we can ring the US off peak, which is today Saturday, still Friday up there, through our Telecom NZ Ltd for .08c per minute. Perhaps you should check it out Jennie. Good luck

Even though I received an email yesterday with confirmation of our booking, I may try and ring them in a minute. I did try earlier this morning but there was a wait and I don't want be kept on hold. I am not sure what Telstra charges us for overseas calls at weekends.

This is our first cruise and we are absolute novices.
How do I make a prepaid reservation for the Pinnacle and are these reservation dinners formal or just well dressed casual?
Thank you.
Ponte.

Ponte, you can call Ship Services and make a reservation now; before 10/1/06 it's $20. Or you can wait until you board and book then: after 9/30/06 it's $30.
Dress in the Pinnacle follows the ship's dress code for the evening. Most people do dress it up a bit---jacket for the male even on a casual evening; put-together outfit for the lady on the same.

Ruth - Just LOVE your description for the ladies on casual night!

Thank you, that clears that up. I have quite a talent for "putting together" and got a chuckle from your phraseology. I will book dinner for two now and pat myself soundly on the back for being money smart.
Thanks again,
Ponte.
