Question about sail & sign, and cash???

We received our docs a few days ago, and I noticed that there is a section that is to be completed before embarkation. It asks for a credit card number for them to apply charges too. I know you can use cash, but do I HAVE to give them a credit card number? I wanted to use cash for the whole trip. Can I just let them know that I will be using cash for the whole trip and apply it at the purser's desk? Will this make my wait longer at embarkation because of my complicating things? I don't want to use credit cards... can I pout now? ha!

I use Traveler's Checks for my S & S deposit.
What I have done on my last two cruises was to write CASH across the spot where they want a Credit Card number. Seems to work fine. Then I take my Traveler's Checks to the Purser's Desk to make the deposit.
Note: If there is a balance left over at the end of your cruise they will refubd it to you in the form of a Check from Carnival. You can take this to the Purser's Desk and they will cash it for you on the spot so you don't have to take it to your bank when you get home.
They will also notify you if you run short and need to add more cash for your card.
