Its kind of like the document dance, but you do it during the rush you get immediately after booking a cruise. Its not quite as much fun as the doc dance, but its still good.
I just booked a seven night eastern Caribbean cruise on Zuiderdam next April 7. (FLL, HMC, St. Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk).
I'm excited because we've never been to HMC or Grand Turk. Everyone here raves about HMC and Grand Turk seems like a neat little island that has yet to be spoiled by massive tourism.
Now comes the exquisite agony of waiting seven months before we leave...
Does anyone have any experience with Grand Turk? Any must see/do excursions? Any real lemons?

Congratulations on booking your cruise! I've been checking out the Ports of Call Board as I will be in Grand Turk next month. I plan to hang out at the pool at Margaritaville and just have a nice relaxing day.
You'll find some good info on tours, beaches, restaurants etc. there as well.

We went there in August it's a beautiful Island but we just tanned and swam. If you go to Margaritaville it's fun but the drinks are expensive about 20 for 2 margaritas.
Here is a coupon you can use for a free drink at Margaritaville

PS shuffle your feet in the waters there I almost stepped on a ray.

There's not a lot to keep you busy on Grand Turk. It's still an unspoiled island.

That's what is so attractive about it. St. Thomas and many of the other ports-of-call are so developed and overrun with tourists, that you might as well be at Disneyworld. I mean, how many times can you visit Diamonds International?
I've already done a little internet research on GT. Photography is a hobby of mine. I'm hoping that I will be able to make a few good images while I'm there. From what I've seen in my research, between the great sunlight, colorful architecture and glorious scenery, it looks like a photographer's paradise.

Congrats on your BOOKING BOOGIE!
We waited nearly 1 1/2 years between our BOOKING BOOGIE to our DOCUMENT DANCE...but had the CABANA CHA-CHA to help us get through that 18 month period. We even put together a FINAL PAYMENT PARTY with our group to keep the anticipation alive! I know you'll find ways to make your seven month "wait" tolerable!
Can't share about Grand Turk or HMC yet...we've another month and one day to go before our SAILING SALSA!

I don't disagree with you; I enjoyed my visit there very much.
But I could have enjoyed it more if there had been more opportunity for a tour that showed the history/culture/archetecture/etc but still didn't have shops all over the place.

I read that the margarita coupon expired on Sept. 1. I would suggest you go to the Ports of Call and read about Grand Turks. There is another beach called Governor's Beach that seems to be less crowded. We're going on December and looking forward to it.

Wow! I've done the booking boogie all along but didn't know that's what I was doing. Thanks, Paul, for giving a name to this important event. (And I think it's every bit as wonderful as the doc dance!)
