Hi all I am going on the Miracle out of NY on the 12 of June and our first stop is Port Canaveral. I was wondering if anyone here knows how long of a drive it is to Orlando? Does Carnival offer excursions there? Thanks in advance!

We are going on the GLORY which leaves from Port Canaveral. We are flying into Orlando and our travel agent said it would take about 45 minutes, I'm sure there are excursions available, check out the carnival website.

We have flown into MCO and used a car service to get to the Port and it was about 1 hour using the toll road. We have also cruised on Disney then spent a week at WDW so we went from Port to WDW and it was also about 1 hour.

Hello, I don't know about the excursions, but my guess would be yes. However, I live in Melbourne Fl ( just outside of Cocoa Beach). Depending on where you want to go in Orlando, it should take you about an hour. I can make it to the airport in about 45 minutes. To Disney is a little further. Takes us about an hour and a half.
Remember, it's the rainy season in Florida, so plan to do something early in the day. Most afternoons will have a little rain. Some days you could get lucky and not have any rain, but other days it may rain for around 30 minutes in the afternoon.
Hope this helps and enjoy your visit to Florida. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
P.S. Have some change (coins) ready a large part of the freeway system is tolls. To the airport you should pass through one. To Disney it will be a hand full.

Your question was how far to Orlando.
The answer are telling how far it is to Orlando Int'l Airport which is not where you want to go.
I presume you really want Disney World or Universal ?
Disney is prob 75 minutes from the Port and Universal 60-75 minutes.
Avis and Budget are the best to rent a car but you might want to consider a limo - he knows where he's goindg and if there are 4 or more might be worth it!

Cynic is right - the attractions are on the south and west side of town. If you are talking about the airport - 45 mins - about $4 in tolls. To get to the theme parks, 70 mins and about $6 in tolls.
Carnival does offer excursions - the most prevalent is to Kennedy Space Center (don't know the price). It is a great place to spend the day - and if you go, pay the extra for guided tours and behind the scenes walks. It is worth it. I live in Orlando and love to go to the Cape - it is amazing.
Here is a link from our trip - we were on Glory April 24.
