but I just looked up the weather forcast for our cruise next week and it basically has "Scattered Thunderstorms" and "Scattered Showers" or "Showers" for the whole time...
What does this mean? Does that mean there won't be any blue skies? http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif I sure hope not! Please help! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

For the past three sailings, the forecast hasn't changed!
Rest ASSURED that you will have some nice weather! We had a bit of rain a couple of times, but literally only for a few minutes or before we even woke up. Not nearly enough to ruin the trip. Of course, nothing could ruin it as long as you keep good company around you!
You will have a blast on Destiny. I hear she's recovered well since the 4/25'ers.

The Captain knows how to steer clear of those scattered thunderstorms. What it really means is the weatherman you got it from has no idea what is going to happen that week so he's playing it safe. The Captain will play it safer as he wants you to have fun in the sun so you come back again, and again, and again.
Usually quick rains don't dampen a Carnvial cruise.

we have our 9th or 10 cruise coming up in 4 days and we haven't had bad weather on any of them. we usually go in May, once in april, and the weather is fantastic. I can only remember a couple of mornings where it was a little nippy and if I think it is nippy everyone else probably thinks it is great. I am a warm weather boy . Bethee 's husband. '

It means that it will probably rain sometime during the day, thus the lush tropical vegitation. I think it has rained or threatened to rain at one time or another on most days we've cruised. We don't worry about it anymore because those storms usually are short-lived and blow right on through
Don't worry about it

Have you ever seen a rainbow at sea? ( check out my Conquest pics- link below- Outstanding http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif)> the forcast here for the week is the same... meaning you may get a shower in the late afternoon, and then the sun comes right back out! The only port that never forcasts any rain is Aruba... and it's a desert http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Over the last 35 years I have done 10 cruises, at least 6 land based trips to the carribean and multiple trips to florida. Experience has led me to believe that a day w/o rain is a day w/o sunshine. In the tropical climate they get rain, frequently heavy, every day either mid morn or mid-late afternoon or both. It usually lasts unser 1 hour and is wonderful after.
Also, I wouldn't put much credance in the on-line weather reports. My local has been MAJOR off the last 10 days. Further, last 6/1 I took an Alaska cruise. Watched the weather in all 3 of our ports for a month in advance. All 3 were cold & rain every day for the entire month. We had wonderful weather. Never used our sweaters or anything heavier than a widbreaker in Alaska the first week of June!! Daytime temps reached 65 & 70.

Not true!
For the week of 4/25, Aruba had rain in the forecast every single day.
Turns out it rained for like a second when the ship was there and for like a minute one other time during the week. (DBF was there with the poker gang all week and met me on the pier when we arrived).
Rain blows over FAST in the Caribbean! No worries! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It is getting into the rainy season. We had a few rainy days on our cruise but made the best of them. Some excursions were canceled so we found other things to do.
Don't let the rain let you down. I know it is depressing sometimes not to have blue skies, but it happens.
I have found a good time to cruise is before the end of April or after the end of October. Just beware of those hurricanes - yuck! Makes the ship rock n' roll.

Just remember that if you have good companions, weather doesn't matter!!!
It's not like suffering through a beautiful day at home while stuck in the office!!! MUCH worse, imho!
