Ok so my parents are trying to convience me to come to Canada with them on the victory from NYC. Just curious what anyone thought of this trip. I'm 28 and Single no boyfriend yet. Just wondering if thre would be other singles on board and what kinds of things there are to do onboard this ship.....
Thanks,

I've not been yet, but from what I've read on this board, there is a wide variety of ages and both families and singles. Some of the things I'm looking forward to are the shows, food, piano bar, casino. It seems as if there is lots to do. You should go and have a great time!

I can only answer part of your question. The Victory is a magnificent ship and the Canadian shoreline is something not to be missed. Being a happily married man, I know nothing of the singles scene. But, it has been my experience on cruises from watching others that no one has to be alone unless it is their choice. There are many venues and opportunities on this ship to hook up with someone. It's worth the experience of the cruise to go, even if you don't want to hook up!
I'd never turn down a cruise!

Halifax has the Titanic Museum, which I thought was quite interesting. They have several artifacts from the ship. I don't remember the exact cost, but I think it was somewhere around the $6-7 US range for admission (they accept AAA for discounts too!). If I am not mistaken, I believe Halifax was used as a temp morgue for the Titanic victims.
I enjoyed my time in Halifax and would like to visit it again as I did not get to do everything I would liked to do there.
The shoreline is some of the most scenic and beautiful country I have ever seen. Be sure to get up a little early and catch it on the way into port. The houses are magnificent and the light houses along the way make it a worthwhile trip.
I think you'll have a great time. Haven't been to St. John's yet, but I'm sure the Canadians there are just as friendly as they are in Halifax.
There was a free bus you could ride from the port into town, I think the name was something like FRED (Free Rides Everywhere Downtown). It made a cirlce in and around town and ended up back at the pier. You could get off/on as you like. You might want to check into that as a means of transportation. We didn't have any trouble at all with it, it was just a little crowded, but hey, it was free!
Hope this helps!!!

Hi Lexie,
It seems you're in Halifax at the end of June?
Too bad it's not at the end of July as they're having the Acadian(Cajun for you Americans) /tall ships festival. they're expecting about 40 or so tall ship from all over the world. Sounds like a good excuse for a party woo! Hoo! We're heading down for a week then. (from Ottawa) . Doesn't matter Halifax is a great place , the whole waterfront area is just a hub of activity. (if you like beer have a pint of Keith's or a tour of the brewery right in Halifax). Puts Bud and Miller to shame. Cheers!!

Looks like we're going to be on the ship with you. My wife and I along with my mom and her "friend" will be sailing on the Victory to Canada. I've got a roll call set up but you're the first person I've seen who's going with us. Maybe we can get a group and put together a CC get together on the ship. We'll be celebrating our 12th anniversary and my wife's birthday as well. PARTY!
