Has anyone stayed there before there cruise and if so how was it? We booked it through priceline and are wondering about the location compared to the port and Cruise Ships.
Please help us with any good information you have on it.
Thanks and Happy Sailing.. won't be long now.

i stayed there after my cruise in march & WOW!!! it's a great deal!! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif my total bid came to $45, and the room was much better than the one my cabinmates booked for us at the holiday inn pre-cruise. we paid $35 each for that room...eek!
the hotel is a block away from the free metromover, which will take you to bayside & bubba gumps. if you go into the mall, there is a huge food court where i got some really good sesame chicken. i can't remember how much the cab ride to the port was, but it wasn't too much or too long of a ride. ditto for the airport.
just watch out for the restaurant buffet prices, tho. if you want a cheap breakfast, there's burger king across the street. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I haven't stayed there but I know it is up on the other side of the causeway bridge. It's maybe 1.5 miles from the port and very close to Bayside Marketplace. If you want to see it on a map go to www.mapquest.com (http://www.mapquest.com) and punch in 1601 Biscayne Blvd in the find it box on the front page. That will give you a good idea of where it is in relation to the port.

We just stayed there on April 23rd before our Triumph cruise. Got it for $35.00 on Priceline. Hotel is beautiful and staff is very friendly. Call and ask for a port view room. I believe we were upgraded as our room was a corner room on ther 19th floor with 2 walls of glass, floor to ceiling. One overlooked the port of Miami and the other downtown Miami.
Room was HUGE and very nicely decorated. I'd say it's in line with a Sheraton or Marriott.
I wish I had flown down a few days earlier just to enjoy the room!!

Another hint.
I happened to get up to go to the bathroom at about 5:30 AM and looked out the window. Lo and behold, in the darkness of the morning, the Triumph was pulling into port with the lights a blazing. What a site!!!

We stayed there on April 10th. We called ahead of time and asked for a room with a view of the port. They said they would not be able to assign us a room until we checked in. To make a long story short - we didn't get a room with a view. Maybe because it was Easter weekend. Our room was nice though. For $35.00 you can't beat it. Our cab fare form the airport to the hotel was $24.00 plus tip and the fare from the hotel to the port was $10 plus tip.

We stayed there in January for $35.00 through Priceline. We loved it. There's a continental breakfast served, so we did not pay for the breakfast buffet. There's a shuttle to Bayside for $1.00 each way PP and to the port for $4.00? PP. You have to reserve your spot on the shuttle to the port.

Is there a charge for the "continental" breakfast or is it included in the cost of the room? We too have booked the Radisson for $35 using Priceline for our cruise in June.
Does anyone know the cost of the buffet breakfast that is served at the Radisson??

We stayed there 2 years ago and I think the breakfast buffet was about $12.00- $14.00 I believe. Thought a little over priced for what was on it. Staying there again in Sept. bid $40.00 through Priceline. The hotel itself was great.

We stayed there in March of this year before our Victory cruise. While the hotel itself is nice, our experience was bizarre. At 3:30am or so in the morning we hear a voice say, "It is now safe to return to your room. The fire department has determined that there is no fire. You may return to your room." We never heard a fire alarm previous to this announcement. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif We spoke to other guests later that morning, and they too did not hear a fire alarm, just the man saying it's ok to return to your room. It seems that if you were on the 4th floor or higher, you did not hear any alarm. (It gave us something to talk about while waiting to board the ship http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif)
Just thought you should be aware of this. I hope this was a one time occurence. I'm not sure if I would stay here again, though.
Happy cruising,
Gayle

You select the Miami Downtown area and I can't remember whether you choose 4 star or 3 Star and put in what you want to bid. they either accept it or not. I usually start at 30.00 and let them reject it a couple of times. We have gotten the Sheraton Biscayne last year for 45.00 and now the Radisson for 45.00. Somehow that seems to be the winning price for us.

Go to www.biddingfortravel.com, (http://www.biddingfortravel.com,) scroll down to Florida-Miami and click on that, then scroll down to Miami Hotels List. From there you can see the list of hotels currently on Priceline and what star rating they have. You can also read messages posted for current bid amounts accepted.

Just back from the Triumph. We also picked up the Radisson on priceline for $35. I called to ask for a view of the port, but when we got there we didn't get it, so make sure you ask when you check in. If you don't get one, there is a big window on the top floor that overlooks the port.
The room was very nice with a floor to celing picture window. The staff was very friendly. The bellman offered to arrange free transportation to an Italian restruant in South Beach and bring us back around midnight, but we declined and opted to go to the Burger King acros the street.
We took the $4.00 shuttle to the terminal. We arranged to leave at noon, but decided to leave an hour early. That was no problem and we were the only two on the shuttle.
P.S. Taxi from the airport was $23
