Has anyone have any inexpensive suggestions to get to the pier, ie: parking, etc. Last year we drove to Newark airport and parked long term and took a limo to the pier for $100.00. There are 9 of us. Please help.

Parking at the pier is very expensive, about $25-28 per day, paid in advance if I remember right. You might want to check into getting a ride with a limo company that has a passenger van and split the cost. We had 9 in our group also and the van we had fit all of us and our luggage with no problem. If you are going for a week, I think it would be less expensive than taking 2 cars up and parking both at the pier. Plus, someone else has to navigate the NYC traffic while you just get to watch!

I saw one suggestion that said to park in NJ and then take the ferry across. I'm not sure what the cost it but I bet it's less than a limo. Hope that helps a little.

Why not park on the Jersey side at the NY Waterways Ferry Terminal and ferry across to 12th and 39th. It is about nine blocks up 12th from there. Ferry even has buses you can take. Ferry parking is about $10 day and ferry is $10pp roundtrip.
