Remember the guy who complained about not getting to New Orleans at the end of his cruise after the accident on the Mississippi (with 4 dead)?
Here's another from someone that was trying to get on.

Wow.
I am in shock that these people didn't give a rat's butt about other human beings dying..they were just concerned about themselves and their trip! I also don't understand why this woman went without oxygen....didn't she have it with her? And if she needs oxygen so bad, why and how does she snorkel?
The response to the letter was right on. Carnival did more than anyone could expect to remedy the situation that was NOT in their control. I'd have gladly taken that 50% discount and booked another cruise immediately.
They could have gotten off in Cozumel and gotten a full refund. Carnival is the only line I know of that offers that to all passengers on all ships, not just ones whose trip was 'from hell to nowhere.'
Of course if that were my trip, I'd certainly be disappointed with the circumstances, but jeeze...people DIED....how can you gripe about missing a port of call under those circumstances? And then to complain about weather conditions on TOP of that!
People (some) are crazy and selfish.
I'm hoping with all my heart that other people on that particular cruise have their priorities straight and didn't act in the same manner.

Although we really enjoyed Montego Bay, alot of folks would rather skip it or stay on board. Grand Caymen is nice ( and expensive). I wish I could get their 50% off coupon, I'd have my next cruise booked already http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Halos: Once again, we think alike!!! WE MUST SAIL TOGETHER TO BE ON DENIM AND MORON WATCH! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
This MORON was way out of line expecting more from CCL for a series of events BEYOND their control, the extraordinary efforts to try and make it work, and the TOTAL lack of personal accountability (ie: Hungry? FIND FOOD, even if it's a bag of peanuts out of a vending machine! Need Oxygen? CARRY IT WITH YOU, YOU IDIOT!).
OBVIOUSLY, the travelers here did NOT prepare themselves for the unexpected, where I VEHEMENTLY encourage others to. KNOW your airports, KNOW the flight schedules if something is canceled, KNOW the layout and conditions (Mardi Gras) where you may likely be for an extended time, etc.). Shame on the travelers who think the world owes them for their OWN shortcomings! No one should travel without knowledge from reputable sources!!!!
CCL was MORE than generous on their offer. I'd have been thrilled with it! But beyond THAT, I would have taken matters into my own hands and MADE MY OWN FUN/MEMORABLE CRUISE.
Selfish and demanding and THOUGHTLESS (for those who died) is all I can say about these idiots!
OP: LOVED the link! Never saw this site before and just spent an hour on it!!!!!! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
