Any suggestions for a nice but not expensive hotel in Oslo for July- pre cruise? Since our Century itinerary has been changed we decided to go to Oslo before the cruise starts in Amsterdam. Will probably stay 3 nights but go on the Norway in a Nutshell tour for 1 of the days.

I suggest this link:

It gives good reviews and other useful info.
I had to book a room in Oslo in 2004, and found the supply of inexpensive rooms lacking. However, Oslo is very nice with very few bad areas, and excellent city transportation, so you can't go wrong with most of these hotels...

Breathing in Oslo is expensive. Coffee will be about $5 a cup (no free refills, either). Nice city, but expensive .. particularly with the U.S. dollar continuing to take a dive.
I don't know what you mean by "nice but not expensive." You might want to check out the Scandic chain. They have several properties in Oslo at differnet price points. For inexpensive rooms, this is a good chain. Clean, well-run, etc.
