Noordam DVD players

I am heading out on the Noordam in January and understand she is fitted with the SOE appointments including DVD players in every stateroom? If this is so, does anyone know if you can play music CDs in the DVD players they have? thks...:)

Yes. They play music cds. Use your TV remote and press the TV/Video button to switch to video. Use the DVD to play your cds. Press TV/Video button about 4 more times to get back to TV. It worked great for us.

Has anyone brought their own DVDs from home and used them on a HAL DVD player?

I know this sounds like a silly question, but the handheld DVD players they give you on United PS Business Class flights are specially coded, and play only specially coded DVDs - to discourage pax from walking off with them, I assume - so you can't play your own normal commercial DVD on them. I am just wondering if the same is true with HAL's, or if they have regular ones that will play any DVDs we might want to bring with us.

Thats cool. I wish all ships had this. I am sailing the Noordam early January. I will bring some of my I Love Lucy and Golden Girls collection!
