Time zone change on HAL board?

It appears that posts are clocked four hours ahead of EST, the zone I posted in a few minutes ago.

Why am I not asleep?

Did you go under the User CP and designate your time zone? If you do this, you should always see the time in your local time.

Also, remember to select whether you want automatic adjustments for daylight saving time in your chosen time zone.

Under options you can go to misc options and change to Enhanced Interface - Full Wysw and click on save changes.

This will allow you to put smilies in more than one area.

And type in bold and do a lot of the old things we used to do.

You can also change your font and font color if you have WYSIWIG checked off.:)

I noted that it said that the time in use on the board is Greenwich Mean Time, which makes sense, since this is a world-wide BB.

Is anyone having a problem seeing all of their screen? I have a 17" flat screen and I can see, in the upper right(my right) corner only a portion of the second line after "Welcome, hmh." You last visited: and that's all I can see.
Any suggestions.

I do like this new board--it is much easier to read. hmh

PS: I really have posted more than 2xs since Dec. 2000.

PS 2: Interesting--I must have "jiggled" something because I can now see almost all of the line, about which I posted. Just hadn't scrolled far enough to my left.

The board will always tell you what time zone it's adjusted to. At the moment, as I'm on UK time but also on daylight saving, it's GMT+1. If I set myself to New York, daylight saving, it accurately changes to tell me that all times are GMT-4.

Living in the same time zone as New York we're 5 hours behind GMT (GMT-5).

In Spring, UK switches to DST about a week ahead of us and for that short time of course we're 6 hours behind GMT. Then we're back to GMT-5 until we 'fall back' around the end of October. :)

Then we're back to GMT-5 until we 'fall back' around the end of October. :)No, I think you're getting GMT confused with UK time. GMT never changes, never alters - and in fact "GMT" is more accutately known as "UTC" nowadays (Universal Coordinate Time).

When the UK goes to summer time, we move from GMT to GMT+1 (which is where we are now). New York stays on GMT-5, so there's a temporary 6 hour time difference between NYC and the UK. A week later, NYC goes onto summer time itself, and moves from GMT-5 to GMT-4. The difference between London (GMT+1) and NYC (GMT-4) is then back to 5 hours - but those are the time zones in which those two cities then are for the duration of summer time.
