We just cancelled Insignia Rio de Janeiro to Barcelona in favour of Insignia Valparaiso, Chile to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Who else is sailing with us?

We leave in a couple days for LAX to sail on Celebrity Summit through the Canal and to Fort Lauderdale.

Hope this becomes an active thread! :)

I think we're with you, but the dates don't match. We're booked on a B2B - Valparaiso to BA then on to Rio - the first leg sails on 2/11/08. Is that what you're doing?

Dates don't match. We sail on nsignia from Valparaiso on January 10, 2008. No back to back in our plans. Are you on Insignia?

Good cruising, regardless.

Have you sailed Oceania before? It is our first time on Oceania and everything looks wonderful. Our tablemates on Summit include a couple from Hilton Head, SC, he is a retired profesor. We met on cruise critic.

Have not sailed O before - virtually all of our "conventional cruising" has been on Regent - have done a lot of "expedition cruising" with Lindblad and many trips on live aboard dive boats in the past. Oceania looks good to us and seems to provide extraordinary value. We really like an all inclusive cruise, but the difference in fares can buy a bunch of drinks!

We live near Charleston SC - a lot of folks from your neck of the woods find their way here.

Where are you staying pre-cruise?

Ted,

Have no idea where we will stay in Valpariso, it is still a long time away. I assume we will get an air deviation and arrive a couple of days early to look around and relax before the cruise. Focus tonight (Jan 4) is on leaving early tomorrow morning to catch a ferry to the B.C. mainland to spend a hotel night before flying to LAX on Jan 6 to catch Summit for the Panama Canal transit. Bummer is travelling while the U-20 World Championship hockey game is on: Canada vs Russia. Probably we can catch a repeat broadcast at the pub in our hotel.

We are leaving this thread as we have changed our cruise reservations to Oceania, Nautica, 27 nights sailing from Rome to Singapore on November 25, 2007. This looks like a better cruise for us.

Enjoy your cruise.:)
