CRUISING ALONG
January 2nd, 2007, 10:56 PM
Hi fellow Cruise Critics,
I was browsing through the tv guide and have noticed a television show that may appeal to some other cruise critics. It is on ABC Tv Sunday night 7/1/07 between 6pm and 6.50pm called Speed machine- The Great Ocean Liners.
It is rated as "must see tv". Not sure if thats because the non ratings is upon us of if it will be an interesting show.;)

Cheers

Cruising Along:)

Thanks cruisingalong, will have a watch!!

Hubby and I watched some DVD's over the break, watched the remake of the Poisieden, saw the first Poisioden Adventure when I was very young and loved it, always remember that actress, can't remember her name, someone Lynney??? singing "Theres got to be a morning after" still get goosebumps!
I like any shows to do with cruise ships, even the Love Boat;)

I think her name was Carol Lynley. I have the original on DVD but haven't seen the remake yet.

I also used to love The Love Boat. As you say, anything to do with ships.

I didn't mind the remake, or Kurt Russel for that matter........:D

I begun watching it on the plane on the way to LA, and realised that it might be best to watch it on the way home!!;)
I fast forwarded through the 'boring' bits, and kept on watching the 'best' parts over and over again. It is similar to Titanic, you know how it ends, but you still want to watch it.
Personally, I preferred the original Poseidon.

Yes, I've heard many people say that. That's one of the reasons why I didn't rush out to the movies to watch it. Will wait until it comes on tv. I will definately watch it though. I did actually borrow a copy from someone but the sound was out of sync & I can't stand watching anything like that so I gave up after about 10 mins. I did see the one they made for tv with Steve Guttenberg. It was ok but not brilliant. I think I was 13 when I saw the original at the movies:eek: .

just finished watching it (20 mins ago), not a bad watch.

cant believe the queen mary crossed the atlantic in just under 4 days at a speed of over 30 knots

imagine if it had the same hull as the normandy, would have been crazy fast.

Did you see them building the boats, definately no OHS there! No safety gear, one guy was having a smoke and they were all chewing gum:eek: my how times have changed.

Love the inside of those ships! how sad when the Queen Mary was stripped and made into war transport:mad: .

I really liked the look of the Normandie, alot sleeker than the Queen Mary.
I loved the old style luggage they were conveying onto the ship, all those old style huge trunks:eek: oh my god and i thought I travelled with too much! Thank god for those wheels on them now!

Chez you do travel with too much (just kidding) remember you are packing skimpy bikinis and those ladies had floor length dresses. God forbid if you saw any knees.

I know that I look stunning in my bikinis on my cruises - not!
