Has Anyone Had Success Using the Buyers Guarantee?

I'm looking for a few positive stories out there. Do they exist? I find it hard to believe folks are still buying jewelry in the ports, having a problem with their purchase, needing to use the guarantee, and STILL having zero success?

Actually, unless you really know what you are looking and and are pro-am jewelery buyer, why risk it when there are a TON of good deals around the states.

I would never, ever make this kind of purchase in a tourist trap.

I hope that RedmoundCruiser will see this thread and come on and respond. I know he had a problem with a bracelet that he bought for his wife while in Curacao at one of HA"s recommended shops and they did have a happy ending.

He can fill in all the details.

Happy ENDING sure, but why not just buy from a reputable dealer in your area where if there was a disaster, you do not have to deal with someone half way round the earth to resolve the issue.
