Nifty Little Codes Smiley Faces !

Hi Laura!
Listen Girl This old Dinosaur has never been on anything like this in his life and I am trying hard to grasp everything and learn but Im like the saying you can't teach a old dog new tricks but this one is willing to learn with your patience and guidance thank you Mam.

How do you get the smiley faces inside your message!And how do you get the colors for writing the messages, aw shucks why don't you just come do it all for me HAH,HAH!! Just kidding1 I know the Icons on the bottom go in the title,but how do you get them inside the message?Oh by the way appreciate you and think you are great and a smart person, must of picked it up from your dad? HUH? Grin.

I'm not Laura, but I sincerely hope you do not mind my reply to your post. As one of the Hosts and assigned to the Help Forum http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163 (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163) , I have all sorts of "hankerings" to jump right in and help as any friendly Texan would.

I see by one of the Mod screens you have your Message Editor Interface set as Do Not Show Edit Toolbar. That is why you cannot see the various options Cruise Critic has for fonts, colors, smileys, Spell Check, etc. that our posters can use in their posts. It will help if you make the change to Show Enhanced (WYSIWYG) .

So, how do you do that you ask? http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/06.gif It is easy and here are the steps:


Click on User CP next to FAQ on the left end of the blue bar above under the thread title.
Or click on Quick Links at the other end of the blue bar between Search and Log Out.
Scroll down to Edit Options and click.
Scroll down to Miscellaneous Options.
On the drop down menu next to the words Message Editor Interface:, change from Basic Editor - A simple text box to Enhanced Interface - full WYSIWYG Editing.
Click the Save Changes button.Now, the next time you click the New Thread, Post Reply or Quote buttons you should see all sorts of goodies you can use on a post in the frame of your Message box. With your mouse, you can roll your cursor over the symbols and most will show you a small box with the description for each one. Oh, and if you use the Quick Reply box, you will not have as many goodies as the other three buttons mentioned above.
