Just wondering if anyone has ever sailed during Mardi Gras weekends? I am wondering if any of the Uptown Parades on the weekend's of the 10th and 17th may restrict/slow down traffic getting to and from the cruise terminal. Please advise. I have been to new Orleans, but never during the Mardi Gras.

You can go to nola.com and check the parade routes. It will limit how you can get into and out of downtown because of parades. The weekend before Mardi is the worst. I would check these boards. Do you have a flight out? Are you driving or taking a taxie? Let me know and I can get you directions if you do not want to do parades.

As Cathy has said, yes - traffic will be affected both weekends, but the 17th more than the 10th. Most of the cab drivers know the back ways in/out of the area. I know one year when we went to the Bacchus Ball from Kenner (which is where the airport is) the limo driver took us across the river and back because that was the quickest way. If you're driving yourself you kinda have to know where to go to avoid the parades.
But the traffic problems are only really when a parade is rolling - so check out the parade times for the days involved.
