So what is aft of my stateroom. Looks like the elevator?
Anyone know if this is a bad thing?
What is the open space outside of the elevator?
It appears from this picture that you cannot get straight through from bow to stern on the main deck, is that right? For example it looks like just next to the elevator is a solid wall across the entire ship.
Thanks for any information.

The drawing is inacurate. you can pass through the middle just either side of the staircase. You are correct that just aft is the starboard side midships elevator but this shouldnt be a problem. I doubt your really going to hear a great deal of noise from it. I think you'll be fine.

We were concerned when we learned our stateroom was next to the elevator on our Alaska cruise. There was no problem with noise and it was really a very convenient place to be located. Have a great cruise!

Brian, The space outboard of the elevators is a storeroom. FYI These elevators are actually the glass elevators which once they reach the Promenade Deck offer panoramic sea views.

Being close to or next to the elevators is not a problem, in actuality it can be a benefit, I think you will enjoy being close to an elevator, makes life so much more convenient. We try to get near an elevator, my knees can only take so much stair climbing. Noise will not be a factor, go enjoy your room and cruise!

On modern ships, being next to the elevators is no longer a bad thing.
Sounds of the bells are deadened by the double layers of your stateroom module walls against the firewalls - and the elevator mechanicals themselves are incredibly quiet.
