I would love to hear from anyone who sailed on the Ryndam after December 21. She was having some problems and I wonder if they have been solved. Many thanks.

What problems was she having? I'm due to be aboard her March 13-23 and the only "problems" I've heard about are those related to people flushing things they shouldn't flush and thereby clogging up the vacuum toilet system (i.e., the "poopdam" remarks). Those were, of course, highly localized and limited problems, and problems that occur on all ships at one time or another. <shaking head> What a matchbox car or a tampon will do to the toilet system on a cruise ship is beyond the wildest imaginations of even the most ardent Luddite.

I understand that there were these recurring problms on the Ryndam and I wanted to know if they have been repaired?

1. Toilets that do not work in public areas and staterooms for hours, and in in one case a day. Are these continuing intermitent problems?

2. Problems with airconditioning in staterooms and public areas. Still a problem?

3. I believe a leaking firesprinkler ruined three rooms in Dec. but has been fixed.

4. I believe the electrical problem in Tampa in Dec. has been fixed.

Can anyone please tell me more who has recently been on this ship?

Thanks!

I was on the December Caribbean cruise that had all the problems. From our perspective, the issues were not so bad if you were not one of those whose cabins were directly affected. We had very little, if any, inconvenience after the first two days when the electrical problems were repaired. We have a "stairs only" policy, so the elevator issue was not a problem. They're too slow anyhow even when they work okay. I don't think you'll have any problems with your cruise. It's a matter of outlook- if you look at problems as huge they will be.

for the reassurance! We were on the Dec. cruise when we had power failures and a flood. Just received our Docs for our 3/3 cruise on the Ryndam and glad to hear she has had smooth sailing.
