We're finally booked on our 1st Disney cruise the Wonder for 11/30/08. It was between then and 9/28/08. Dh was worried about hurricanes so we went w/ Nov. instead of Sept. Now I'm worried about the airfare being too expensive to fly ther during t'giving weekend. The cruises would be identical in cost and the same cabins. Any thoughts on this dilemma?

Sorry for the double post...I hate having dial-up!

Hurricane season runs June through November. The end of November will probably give you an edge up so far as the storms go.

Yes, the airfares will be higher during the holiday weekend. Most airlines make reservations available 330 days ahead of time. If you note that date on your calendar and go online as soon as reservations are possible, you'll stand a good chance of finding a decent airfare.

Ships always avoid hurricanes at all costs, even bypassing a port if necessary. The only other thing you might notice is if there are swells caused by the distant storm.

I think I would be inclined to stick with the late November date. Whichever you choose, good luck and happy cruising.

We have sailed 2x's on Disney in Sept, both times we hit a little bad weather but nothing bad, the ship is so big that we just sailed right through it. DH who gets seasick had the patch on, and my grand daughter and were just fine. The ship wasn't as full so we got much better service from what we have heard from others sailing over the holidays. But no matter when you sail with Disney it's the best!

The weather in late November would be less of a concern.

Personally I would chose November after the last few years of hurricane season. Just keep an eye on airfare and purchase it as soon your dates are released and you should be able to get something decent.
