Has anyone booked the ATV (ATV Explorer & Beach Adventure) or Off-Road Kart excursions in Costa Maya? We will be on the Glory in March and are thinking about booking this tour through Carnival but were wondering if its worth it. We want to do something a little different and this sounded like fun.
If anyone has any experience with this excursion could you answer a few of our questions...
Is there a private tour company that does ATV's or the Off-Road Karts that would be less expensive then booking directly through Carnival?
Would you recommend it??
How long do you stay at the Beach?
The details say you go to Pelicanos Beach - Is this beach nice?
Is there time to snorkel?
Thanks so much!!!

We reserved the ATV excursion through Carnival yesterday but after having posted the above questions to see if Cruise Critic members had any experience/opinions about this excursion and received not one response we're a little concerned this could be a dud and not worth the price tag.
If anyone knows anything about all about the ATV excursions through Carnival, please fill us in.
Thank you.

This is an excursion that I am interested in as well. We do not sail until June. My husband and I like to do active/adventure type excursions. I am planning a beach day in Nassau at the Wyndham. Also looking into a beach day in Costa Maya at Cat's Meow or Pez, but not quite sure if we would be happy with 2 total beach days back to back. Please write a review when you get back, so I know if it is worth it to book.
I hope you have a wonderful time.

I'll definitely write a review and let you know how it was. Hopefully I can get at least one person's opinion before I go March 10th to see if we should be revising our plans since we still have time to cancel/alter our reservation. But if we stick with it, I'll let you know.

Hi there,
My husband (32), myslef (32), son (8) and daughter (9) will also be on the Glory for the March 10th Western Itinerary cruise. Although we have a (Carnival-booked) excursion planned for Cozumel at the beach, and cave tubing and zip-lining booked (privately) for Belize, we are still trying to figure out what exactly to do with our time in Costa Maya and in Nassau. I thought about the off-road tour, but it seems really expensive. It might just be worth it to go to the beach at Mahajual and spend $40 for a nice day and some shopping. The promise of some shade is also appealing to me since two of us are pretty fair (Candian winter!) and won't be able to tolerate constant exposure. A bad sunburn would ruin the trip!
See you in the Glory -- just found out that we were upgraded from a guaranteed oceanview to a larger cabin on the Spa deck! Very exciting!

We'll be on the Victory on 3/25 and we were looking at this same excursion as a possibility. Haven't booked yet...trying to decide if we want one beach day at these ports and the other stops have too many options to pass up. Also hesitant to book through the ship, and I have no idea why that is. Wish there were some reviews to go on!

Me too!! I would have thought this excursion would have been slightly more popular where I'd get at least one or two reviews!! Oh well. We are sticking with this excursion as it is only 2.5 hours long and it will still give us some time to spend on the beach... hopefully.
We leave on the 10th (March) and back on the 17th, if you are still thinking about this excursion let me know and when I get back I'll let you know how it was.

Please do let me know, Amy! At this point, we are hoping to have the excursions scheduled by the end of this week if at all possible. We get to Costa Maya on 3/27, so just a bit after you. Maybe you and I will be the guinea pigs for this one. Do you mind me asking what the price per person is on this? I tried finding that on Carnival's website but it appeared we have to book in order to find out. Could be that I am just clueless...

I don't know if you really want to know...
It's $99 a person. We were given Carnival Gift certificates for Christmas so its our "big" excursion. The other ports we are taking all private excursions (cave tubing, snorkeling out to the reefs, etc.) so we felt ok about spending that much for 2.5 hrs. for an ATV adventure.

We took ATV's out in Aruba last year and I am trying to remember if that is in line with what we paid. I tried finding an ATV excursion in CM on my own and couldn't....I think we might just do the beach thing there. I am still undecided though. Thanks a lot for letting me know the price...it's good to have something to work with here.
