Galaxy 07/23/04 Tour of Rome

I am going on the Galaxy in a few weeks. I am maxing out all of my vacation time and staying one extra day in Rome. I would like to find a reasonably priced tour of Rome that would pick me up (with luggage) on August 2 in Civitavecchia, give me a full tour of Rome, and drop me off somewhere in Rome where I could take a taxi to my hotel. I have checked into a few places, but all were very expensive because this part I am doing on my own. If you have any suggestions, please email me at michaeljnixon@hotmail.com. We are on the same cruise. I may have taken some notes along the way as I've been reading this message board. I'll look through them and get back to you if I come up with something. The people on this board are SO helpful and knowledgeable. I'm sure if I don't, someone will give you some good info. I wouldn't doubt that there will be taxis waiting at the pier for people just like you wanting to have a tour. Have you tried looking for a hotel on hotwire.com? My son always does well at that site.

Have you registered for the Cruise Critic party onboard? We have more than enough people signed up so it's a go.

hello Michael, We just returned from the Galaxy and had a wonderful time- you will be very pleased. We arrived in Rome 2 days early and used Daniele Melaragno and his team from driverinrome.com. They did a tremendous job. We saw more in one day than most saw in several. They were always prompt ( early!) professional, and friendly and the charges were quite reasonable. They also did our transports to and from the airport and the pier. Let me know if you have any other questions.
