Board mistakes--posts under wrong name !

I just found out that this board has listed many old posts under this name that we did not make. When I click on the "show all posts" feature, many posts re a Princess cruise, South Pacific cruise, buying pearls, etc.are shown as having been made by me. I've never cruised Princess and never been to the South Pacific. How did this happen, and has it happened to anyone else??

Interesting. Would it be fair to say that all the posts wrongly attributed to you pre-date 1 April 2004?

It sounds like some of the database that did get transferred was corrupted, because threads started before 1 April 2004 were not going to be migrated. Therefore there ought not to be any posts pre-dating 1 April 2004, even though we also lost a lot of posts after that date.

Right, Globalizer, they were from '03. This should be corrected as I will take the blame (or credit) for anything I post but certainly not for anyone else.

Have you e-mailed Laura or Walt? I probably would if I discovered that happened to me.

Those posts should be erased IMO

annebill: I think that Laura and the team already know that there's a problem in this area. It looks like maybe very old posts (that shouldn't have come across to the new boards) are getting linked to the wrong user IDs in the new database. I tend to agree with sail7seas - if the old posts shouldn't have come across and are causing problems, deleting them may be the easiest solution.
