Library/Expolrations Cafe on Noordam Question

Do they allow you to sign out the books or are you only able to read them in the cafe? TIA!

You are allowed to sign them out and take to your cabin. Just make sure when you bring the books or videos back that they actually sign it back in on the computer and take out any slips that you signed. I noticed on our last evening when returning videos that they pulled up our cabin number and said that we had not returned 3 videos. One of the guys that was checking them in did not take out our signed slip or checked it in on the computer but when the girl checked the video storage she saw that the movies were actually there so all was fine in the end.

We were pleasantly surprised to see the wonderful collection available. The Explorations Cafe on Noordam is a great space. We enjoyed it very much.

While I like to check books out, there are some extra comfy chairs to settle into and enjoy a good read.

I don't know if this applies to the Noordam, but when we were on the Amsterdam recently, you couldn't check out any of the travel books, because they were too popular. You could only read those in the library/cafe area. But all other books you could indeed check out. I love the Explorations Cafe and its library:) There is also an area where you can exchange your own book(s) for any that your fellow passengers may have donated.

Excellent, that's one less thing for me to have to pack. Now I just hope they have enough trashy novels for me to enjoy by the pool! :p

Middle-Aged Mom made a good point. It was the same on Maasdam and on Noordam. You could only use the travel books at the Explorations Cafe. They could not be checked out. I think they were the only exceptions.....everything else could be borrowed.
