Hi, looking at 14 day med. cruise on celebrity millenium on 10/24-11/7. Any pros/cons going so late in oct/nov. will the weather be quite cold? will it be rocky seas?

all replies appreciated. thanks

We did a 23 day cruise in the Med and Black Sea from Oct 6 to Oct 28, 2002. Except for one very rough day in the Black Sea where we missed a port the seas were calm. It was warm (70's) in the North and Hot (80's) in the south.
Enjoy your cruise!

We did similar trip in 2003. Departed Rome on October 24 for 7 day cruise ending in Monte Carlo on October 31. Then we spent 5 days driving in northern Italy.

There were days of rain and days of pure sunshine. It never got very cold, and it never got very hot. Temperature was mostly in the 60's. I took a microfiber raincoat with a zip-in lining that I could take out if it was warmish.
There was one night when the seas were rough, so we spent the night docked instead of sailing, as we were on a very small ship.

I think it's a good time to visit Europe because there are no crowds of tourists. Hopefully you will get more of the sunny days than the rainy ones!

Good question and glad to hear from others that the weather may still be good in the Fall. We are headed to The Med in Oct/Nov as well. Question for you "ilovhywd", were you on Windstar by any chance? Since you mentioned you were on a small ship I was curious. That's who we will be on this Fall and, if you were, we would be interested to hear about your experiences (ship, service, ports, etc.). This will be our first Windstar cruise and are really looking forward to it. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

No, we were on the Radisson Diamond in October, 2003.

Sorry I can't tell you more about Windstar, as we have not yet tried it! Everyone we know who has been on Windstar has had a terrific experience.

Thank you "ilovhywd" for the information! We have friends on Radisson now crusing the Baltic. We'll have to try Radisson some day since we've heard very good things about them.
