$150.00 pp through cruiseline or online agent is almost triple the price the hotels get per night.Booking airfare, hotel, transfer, and cruise separately can save 200.00 on hotel, 400.00 on airfare and a little on transfers. WHATS UP WITH THIS!!!!!!!!! Would like to book all togather, but 150.00 per person for a 65.00 per night hotel room is quite a mark up. Also airfare is doubled when purchased with cruise.... unbelievable!! Seems like a no brainer, but can it all be put togather without cuiseline or travel agent air and transfer?

You are right in one idea - heading to Norfolk a day early in January is a wise decision. You never know how the weather will be at that time of the year.

Just a rule of thumb - we book our own air and our own hotels. We rarely go through the cruise lines (only when we are embarking in one city and disembarking in another). We tell out TA what air line we want, the time we want to fly and what hotel and nights we want to stay there. She does the rest. In fact the minute she sees us walk into her office, she starts to get ready and knows just what we want.

YES!! Thats what I was looking for! Why do online ta's try to catch customers by charging so much more for a bit of convenience?

Charlie2nu you just said it. CONVINENCE! Some people do not want to bother making they own arrangements, some are afraid of screwing up their arrangements, some do not know how to use a computer (my father), therefore, paying x amount extra for someone else to do it is better in their opion.
