Would anyone know of scheduled refurbishments - or other scheduled off weeks - in the fall of 2007? I was looking to book in that time period and noticed that one week did not show as available.
If so, should I be concerned about a refurb coming 1-2 weeks after my planned trip? (Sort of a "are things being let go for the last few weeks before scheduled maintenance" kind of thing.)
Just being a nervous nellie!!!!

Actually the Wonder just came out of drydock for refurbishment last October. They added the jumbotron screen, a new water splash area for the toddlers and a few more smaller things.
So they usually rotate every other year, which means the Magic is due the next time for dry dock.
Unless they have changes their schedule for some unknown reason your safe!!
Once in awhile the entire ship is booked for a special group. Maybe this is oneof those times or maybe the ship is actually filled up.
Even if it was a drydock. believe me, they WONT let things go because of this. They are cleaning 24/7 on both ships. That wont change.

Having done 5 DCL cruises, I've found that DCL, never defers maintenance. We actually did the week before re-furbishment cruise aboard the Magic in the Fall of 05. Maintenance was actually intensified in prepararation for the re-furb. It was interesting on our debarkation morning, to watch, men, woman, and materials being put on the ship, because, when the last crusier gets off, the work starts. The dock was abuzz, with activities. Whenever you cruise with Disney, I think you'll have a wonderful time. The only thing Disney can't control on their ships is the weather. So Go, and have Fun. The Magic will go into drydock September 6, 2008. We are on the cruise right before drydock. Hope we don't regret that later.:(

you won't regret it. The service will be as normal - and trust me you won't know that dry dock is going to happen untill you get off the ship & see an endless line of vans, trucks and equipment. For the crew - drydock is an exciting time, it's a break from the norm (and the only day off disney DCL gives is during dry dock!)
The whole maintenance thing - it is on-going. About a month and a bit ago lucky cruisers on the wonder got a 2nd stop at castaway because they were doing some work on the hull. Better yet, both days were super sunny!
