I tried to book the Aqua Trax for Westerdam 3/18 and could no do it online. I called HAL and was told that Aqua Trax had been pulled.
Any reports of problems with Aqua Trax - we had a blast the last time we were at HMC.
Still waitlisted for a Cabana - don't think the Cabana fairy is going to visit us.

I did the Aqua Trax about two years ago when I was on the Westerdam. This was one shore trip that I did not like.
I tried jet skis in various Mexican ports so I have a good idea what to expect. I enjoy them, but not at hot rod speeds. The guides and the other people in the group often left me way behind and at times it seems if I was forgotten. The water was very active that day and the aqua trax stopped on me for a while.
I expressed my concerns about it when I returned to the boat. Now that's just my opinion about the guides, but I don't know if anyone else had the same to happen to them.
Now mind you I'm the type to try new things when I travel, so I'm not a fuddy. But this ranks very low on shore trips.
Happy sailing!!

I booked the aquatrax online for my 2/25 cruise and I was the only one on my tour. I had never been on a jetski before so I started out slow and was zipping right along by the end of the hour. One of the highlights of my trip!
There didn't seem to be any problem with the machines. Maybe there isn't a big demand???
Hope to get to take your ride :D

Something is going on at HMC. They pulled the SCUBA too.
Wonder if they are getting ready to add a bunch of new excursions there?

This bothers me as I am booked on the aqua trax excursion next week. :(
I just got off the phone with the Shore Excursions desk in Seattle and the rep I spoke with told me that the aqua trax excursion cannot be booked online, only onboard the ship. I'm hoping that he didn't mean that because I am within 10 days of sailing though. When I told him that I had the reservation from an online booking, he told me that it was still a go. Guess I will see in a few days.

I hope you get to do it as it is very fun. I'll try and book on board, but the HAL rep told me that would not happen. I got the impression that something had happened (like maybe an accident) and they pulled this item.

We really enjoyed the Aqua Trax on our 2/11 cruise. We had a total of 4 wave runners on the trek. I don't know what could have caused the deletion. When we returned there were about 10 people waiting for their waverunners. I do know that when speaking with the dealer in the casino about how nice of time I had had on the waverunner they said "very dangerous".

Dangerous? Unless he's talking about the odd shark that happens to drift into the lagoon, they are only as dangerous as you make them I think. I did the excursion a couple years ago and loved it. Last August I was on jetskis in the Atlantic while in Nassau on the Dawn and they made the ones on HMC look like kiddie bikes with training wheels.
Hopefully the excursion is a go and I won't find an advisory in my cabin telling me it has been cancelled.
