My wife and I are booked on the Oosterdam to Alaska on Sept. 4. I was wondering whether you can make reservations ahead of time for the Pinnacle Grill? If so, how and how far in advance is recommended?

We made a reservation for the first night (only a $10 per person charge that night). We called about a month ahead. However, they LOST our reservation. Luckily I checked at the Pinnacle desk when we boarded and they got it straightened out. So, yes, you can, and do confirm!

You can book reservations well ahead and I would advise it. We were on the O-dam last week and the Pinnacle was sold out every night. Never did get to eat there but did a couple times on another cruise. We were not too disappointed as the food in the dining room was quite good. They have a new menu that pairs wines with each course and costs $50 which is probably well worth it in the price of the wines alone. That menu is a little different than the other menu. I don't know if they are still offering the $10 night anymore due to increased interest.

They are. I called last week to reserve for the first night of our September cruise. $10 was charged to my credit card. I'm looking forward to it.

Can you only make a reservation for the first night ahead of time? I paid the $20 pp when I ordered some other items, but didn't know I could select a night now. If so, which night is Dutch Night on Zuiderdam Western? I saw an older menu which had it as Sunday night. Is that still correct?

The Dutch night was Sunday night for us on that cruise.

We were on the same cruise as Cauvet and ate in the Pinnacle on the Thursday night of the cruise. I don't know if they were sold out but there were alot of empty tables at our 7 reservation. They may just not have the staff to cover but our two waiters were great. I made the reservation about a month in advance. Have fun.

We were on Zuiderdam last week and there was NO problem getting a table on any night in the Odyssey/Pinnacle Grill. You can make reservations after you get on the ship and you should be fine. I never saw the place more than 25% full - probably due to the fact that the Vista dining room meals were so fantastic. Even Dutch night was great.:)

If we book more than one night at the PG and find we don't enjoy the initial experience, can we give up our other reservation and be reimbursed our deposit? Also- how do we find out if our ship is planning a wine dinner? Are they, (wine dinners), common occurrences on HAL now, or only specific ships?

Does anyone know when Dutch night is on the Oo Eastern itinerary? I like to go the Pinnacle on that night and would like to reserve in advance.
Thanks,
Dee

Thanks, TT. Is your Sept. 4 cruise on the Oo Eastern or Western. My cruise is Nov. 7 and it is Eastern.
