The O should be there somewhere....in that thick blanket of fog! We'll have to hope it burns off before the
3 PM Wave!

That is some fog! I peeked in early this morning and just barely could see some lights. It's still socked in! Wonder how this has impacted operations at Lindberg Field?

Good question, Jim. I've never seen it this foggy.

9am pdt don't know whether it has reopened yet, but Lindbergh was closed to all incoming and most outgoing flights earlier. the same fog you see on the webcam is the same fog at the airport less than 2 miles away:)

I figured it would have an impact. I just couldn't see online where the airport was closed. It certainly makes sense that it would be.

Now the question is when it will burn off. Those who are flying over today, including laffnvegas, could arrive much later than planned if their flights to San Diego are held at the departure airport.

I live in the flight path and flights seem to be coming and going as usual.

Lots of people in the northeast have missed their cruises out of Florida today because the airlines cancelled so many flights. I never even thought of fog as a situation that would cause a problem, but I guess there are many situations that cause flight delays. Maybe we have to start planning to arrive in the embarkation city a few days before and consider it an extended vacation.

It's a good idea to do that, Carol. Last year, our cruise left from FFL on Saturday, and we arrived on Wednesday and enjoyed an extended vacation!

A lot of flights were cancelled out of Logan yesterday. I'm sure that's happened throughout New England and New York.

I just brought the web cam up again, and the fog is starting to burn off. You can even make out the O somewhat on the screen!

Take a look.....

Our fog comes from the Ocean and shouldn't last longer than 10:30-11am. It rarely lasts longer than that.

I just did, and can't even see a pier that I know was there a few days ago.

Take another look...it's clearing off nicely.

Carol, I left you a message about crocs on that other thread, "footwear for dining room!" ;)

The fog certainly is hanging in there today.

Well, it's still a bit of a blur to me, but I guess it's an improvement. By 3pm California time, it should be ok. I hope Lisa and Tom made it to the boat.

It's clearer again.....may actually be burning off now.

Much better. The rest of it should be gone well before the wave.

Perfectly clear now :) I hope everyone getting on the Oosterdam has a great time! I'll have to try to tune in for the wave later...

The ship terminal webcam seems to have been replaced by one with photos of the side of a building. :(

I can see it from another camera, but there is a balcony rail near the camera that obscures the "wave" position
