My family and I are leaving 7/17 on the Maasdam out of Boston. As we live only about 8 miles from the pier, we will have someone drop us off that day. Our family group includes my parents (70) and my 7 year old niece. I am curious about what time we can arrive at the pier. HAL told my travel agent that we could board as early as 11:30 a.m., I was under the impression the time was 1 p.m.. We want to maximize the time on the ship, but do not want to get there two hours too early and wait with an anxious 7 year old or tired parents.

Any help from recent Maasdam cruisers would be appreciated.

Thanks
Linda

We were on this cruise in June and boarding started at 11:30. We got there about 12:15 and it took approx. 15-20 minutes to go through the boarding process. Went to lido for lunch and our cabin was ready by about 1.
