View Full Version : If you were granted just one "Fun Wish" ......

LoveLifeAtSea

..... what would it be?

My "wish" would be to cruise as often as I like, whenever I wanted to, with whomever I enjoyed (including some fabulous people I have yet to meet) and with the accomodations that pleased me. I would not only be granted a lot of fun, but I would also be granted pure joy and serenity!!!

I guess that's asking for a lot, so I may have to turn this wish into a PRAYER!

What would your "Fun Wish" be?

:) I'll stay away from the wishes for the biggies like World Peace and a Cure for Cancer and get down to FUN as you say.

My fun wish would be to fill a "dam" ship with all of our favorite crew friends on the same ship at the same time and all of the wonderful passenger friends we have met throughout the many cruises we have enjoyed.

Everyone we have met aboard with whom we enjoyed a drink, a shore excursion, dinners, a chat at the pool........and all our HAL friends. Oh what fun that would be!!!

Since it seems these are cruise related, to take my children out of school for a year, and my husband out of the office for a year and sail around the world. I think they would learn incredible things about the places they were to visit, and it would truly be a trip of a lifetime. Of course there would have to be a tutor along for the other subjects, because I DON'T do homeschool!

I wish to be one of S7S's friends and go on that cruise she would take everyone on *LOL*

Seriously , a great "fun" wish would be to do an around the world cruise. That would be so much fun and so educational. truly a once in a lifetime experience

Sail .... How superb! I hope I'm one of those friends! :p

Stillfrantic .... it doesn't have to be cruise related. As Sail7Seas picked up on .... I'm just trying to keep this light and fun and off of the serious issues that we are all already wishing and praying for. :)

Vicar .... I think I just KNEW what you were going to say! :D

S7S...I will be there , just name the time and place ....and ship *LOL*

Lovelifeatsea ...I'm that predictable huh? :)

Actually my "fun" wish that doesn't include cruiseing would get this thread shut down *LOL*. So I will leave it at the around the world cruise :) :) :)

I've been promoting and escorting Dixieland Jazz cruises for 23 years. My wish would be to charter a ship and bring all of the bands along that I have worked with over the years and give the cabins away to those fans and clients that have become dear to my heart. (I'd have to win the lottery to do this, you understand.)

I feel so blessed to have met so many wonderful people and seen so many wonderful places in my travel career. Hubby opted for the Holland America Line World Cruise as his fun wish. He said I could come along, too.

Well, Since I will be a first time cruiser in December That is truely the last thing I promiced I would do before I died. Now that my life time dream of going on a cruise is happening soon and I'm not dieing yet lol lol My Fun wish would be to travel on every cruise ship there is back to back, get off one ship immediatly on to another. i figure it would take a few years not stop. I would lose my land legs, have no responsibilites, never have to grocery shop, do laundry, fix meals, and would make thousands of friends. oh yeah and gain soooooo much weight they would have to get a crain to lift me off the very final ship.

How wonderful your dream, a goal of yours is coming true. I am very happy for you and hope your cruise is everything you want it to be.

I REALLY like your "fun wish" of going from one ship to the next. That does sound pretty wonderful. :)

Have a wondeful time on your cruise....and cruise again soon. :)

:)

Our wish is to sail around the world in 80 days, sit at the captains table with sail7seas and revneal ( we want him to give the blessing everyday).

And to have all the crew members whom we have gotten to know over the years be with us for hopefully not the last cruise of our lives.

:D :D

first class tickets for the direct flight to our cruise .. penthouse, of course...taking our family along. (of course, each in their own cabin...a suite of course!) Planning wonderful shore excursions to explore this beautiful world of ours...with lots of days at sea to rest and relax and have wonderful cocktail parties in our penthouse

I often dream this when one of the state lotteries has a big jackpot and we pick up a ticket to dream a little...

A little off topic, but a huge jackpot was just won by a retired woman who worked as a janitor all her life..very touching to see her on TV...she's never taken a vacation...I bet she will be now, and perhaps she'll take a cruise!

Our fun wish would be to take a World Cruise. The Penthouse would be nice along with first class airline tickets and enough money to do all the tours possible.

Let me think. An all inclusive 30 day voyage around Hawaii. This is where we stay over night at each port for two-3 full days. All tours, tips, food, drinks, water toys ect are included in the price. Round trip out of Vancouver with Pre-stay hotel for two days and air. Plus have all my family and friends with me on a mega ship with a great family/kids/teen area. Movies under the Stars. And nice weather too!!. I know I want to win the biggest power ball jackpot too.

Hmmmmmmmmm............all the above PLUS I would love to be able to take about a 10 to 14 day cruise that would include every favorite port and every friend I have met on every cruise we've been on. I would like to add to that a lot of people on these boards who might become friends, too.

And of course I would like for the time to do this over and over whenever we want and have the cost be no object whatsoever. So we'd have that magnificent Penthouse suite I've always dreamed of. And then I'd like all my favorite foods to be served and I'd be able to eat everything I want without gaining one ounce of weight.

Doesn't take much to make me happy:D

I'd love to do a Med. cruise where we would spend a full 2-3 days in each port so we could enjoy the night life and still have plenty of time to explore. The ship would serve foods and wines typical of the area.

And since I'm "wishing", I'd have more than enough money to bring all of my family and friends for this unforgettable trip.

I would love to always have a cruise planned, as often as once per quarter, with enough vacation time (and money!) to do so. Now, this may not sound nice, but I wish my husband would sometimes pass and suggest that I invite my sister and best friend to travel with me instead. She exposed me to the wonderful world of cruising, and I do miss rooming with her!!!!

I am with Peggy Sue.... When I bought my mega ticket all I could think of was the best cruise for the longest time in the best cabin with all my family and best friends.... And it would all be on me.

Well I didn't win but there is always tomorrow;)

I would like for LOTS of money.

I know it doesn't sound very good or interesting, but if you think of it:

You can afford any cruise and take as much vacation time as you wish!!! :)

At first I was thinking about the health being the most important thing but if you have so much money you can monitor your health with the best possible methods, have the best coverage etc.

It would definitely involved a cruise, and I like the idea of eating as much as I like without gaining an ounce. And I would add that this would be without going within 100 feet of the gym.

I would also like to have docks built in every port so I don't have to tender in. Or at least put me first in line for the tender (in fact make it my own personal tender).

But what I would really like is for the cruise ship to go from port to port at my request, with the emphasis being on the best places in the world to go diving, with the best divemasters as my dive buddy in each port. They would have to install a special dive platform off the side of the ship for my own personal use.

I love this thread, my one wish would be to sail around the world with all of the wonderful people on this board, then to have Sail7seas, Orcrone and Vocar at my dining table. What trouble we could get into!!! Then have the power to tell the capitan what ports to stop in and how long we would like to stay.

I must admit I would also like to eat and not gain any weight. That was a wonderful wish.......

Just thinking about what you said about telling the captain what ports to go too.

I magine being on an Alaskan cruise and telling the captain "Hey I'm getting chilly, take this ship to Belize *LOL*

Reminds me of Rodney Dangerfield in Caddy Shack when he was on the yatch.

"Move over Swanson, I'm driving" *LOL*

Yep Yep yep , we would get into some trouble *LOL*

My DH and I would be honored to dine with you and your (soon to be) DH, Orcrone and Vicar.......we would have fun, wouldn't we!!

The best way to get the Captain to take the ship where we want it to go is to charter the whole "dam" ship. When a group charters a ship, within some limitations, they can have alot of say as to the itinerary.

So, shall we start dreaming about how we will arrange to get our own charter and make up the PERFECT itinerary to suit us all?

That could take longer than the cruise itself would be :)

I vote for boarding in Pireaus (port of Athens), cruising the Greek Islands, a stop in Turkey, on to Civitavecchia for Rome; Livorno for Florence and then to Venice. Then we can move along to the Spanish Riviera with a stop in Malaga for visits to Costa Del Sol's Marbella......talk about playground of the Rich & Famous and their gorgeous yachts in that harbor!!!

Then I suggest we head to Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Rotterdam (how can we not stop in Holland? ); set our course for Iceland, Greenland and then transatlantic to Boston. Down the coast to HMC and drop and anchor for a few days; onward to St. Thomas.........

Someone else take it from here, would 'ya??

HeatherInFlorida

Can I sneak on??? We'd have to stop at my 3 all time favorite ports: Naples for Capri (Anacapri), Villefranche and Bora Bora. But for that there must be many, many days at sea (which is my other all time favorite place to be:D ).

I'd love to play. But with the exception of Canada and Tijuana I've only been out of the country to go on two western Caribbean cruises. So I don't have a lot of experience. So I'll vote to just go along for the ride, as long as we can make a few stops, (OK a lot of stops) at some good diving destinations.:D :) ;)

Heather: welcome aboard :)

S7S's I like your start of the trip. The only place I would suggest would be a few stops around Tahiti.....but everything else sounds perfect. So I think we should start working on the hiring of the crew and which boat we would like to take......

Orcrone: thanks for the well wishes, we are very excited for our cruise and wish we could meet all of you for a beverage. One of these times!!!

Have a wonderful day

Hmmmmmmm pretty hard to beat the itinerary S7S has planned but I would like to add Austrailia, That is one of my dream destinations so as long as we are dreaming. *LOL* also Monaco (talk about your playgrounds of the Rich and Famous) Just looks like such a beautiful place and I would love to explore all the palaces and beautiful old buildings.

Man I have heard of cruises to nowhere, this is turning into a cruise to everywhere. *LOL*

Vicar,

I'd always love to have a dive buddy. My first cruise was 14 years ago on Royal Caribbean. Snorkeling in Grand Cayman is what convinced me to learn to scuba dive. DW tried it, but she's claustrophobic and could not handle breathing fake air. So now I'll go diving a couple of times while we're cruising and she'll partake in the spa.

You are on!!!!!

I would certainly want to go my first time out with someone who knows what they are doing . I have a feeling The Great Barrier reef would be a little advanced for to start out the first time. So this dream cruise would have to stop at a few remedial dive spots for me to brush up. *LOL*

I need to become an expert diver and a pro golfer in a few short lessons.

In Oct I am going to Palm Springs with GF to visit her dad (my first time meeting him) I am a weekend warrior golfer, just some buddies get together to have fun and then hit the "19th hole" GFs dad is like two strokes from being a pro, seeing he is from the Springs where Golf is God.

I see myself falling off a cliff at Pebble Beach *LOL* Maybe I should learn to dive first *LOL*

S7S's I like your start of the trip. The only place I would suggest would be a few stops around Tahiti.....
Bora Bora is part of Tahiti ... one of the islands in that chain. And if you've never been? You will leave a part of your heart there ... and it will beckon you until you return. I do not lie. And you must approach Bora Bora by sea. It is sheer magic.
