My family are seasoned cruiser and Disney junkies ( Been to disneyworld 11 times, Disneyland 1x and Disneyland Paris 1x). I was really taken a back when I called disney to get my hotel pickup for the cruise taken care of. I booked the Cruise and room ( day before and a day after) separatly. I did this to save money. Anyway, when I called I was told that the bus to the port will not pick us up at our hotel Pop Century. We must go to the Beach club resort for transport. I was told to take a cab to get there ( at my expense)!! Whats up with that? Is it because I am at the inexpensive hotel? Please give me ideas on what I can do before we go or when we check in to get this problem taken care of. Taking the bus to MGM and then the boat to the Beach club is not problematic, unless you have a suitcase with you!!!!

The cruise line buses do not pick up at every hotel/resort in WDW. If you don't want to take luggage on the bus (and who does?) then a taxi is the way to go. A cab from POP to the Beach is not that expensive. There really is no place you can go to get this "taken care of" as that's the way it works for everyone staying at a resort without the cruise bus pick up.

I would skip Disney transportation all together and go with a car service. It might be about the same price or even cheaper that way.

In January we stayed at Pop Century and then went on the Disney cruise. In our case we had to get to the Dolphin hotel to be picked up for the cruise. I'm not sure how we did it but we were able to have our bags picked up at Pop Century and taken to the Dolphin to be transferred to the bus to take us to the cruise. We had to find our own way to the Dolphin. So, they suggested we take the bus from Pop Century to Epcot and then take a small boat to the Dolphin.
Talk to the the valet parking people to see if they can tell you how to have your bags picked up and then you just need to get yourself to the hotel where they will pick you up for the cruise.
They were really helpful when we were there.

Your suitcases will not be carried onto the ship either. OOPS! Metrowon

Remember the suitcases will not be carried onto the ship. OOPS! Metrowon

We rented a limo to get us from the Caribbean to the port. The bus service is a mad house!

how do you find out what hotels are used as pickup points? I was thinking about staying the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The DCL coaches only go to the resorts that are used by the guests on Land/Sea packages. They probably don't want to re-route the coaches to the other resorts. Apparently DCL doesn't use the Pop Century.
That's a part of booking it on your own. You save a few dollars but you have to put up with more inconveniences. Have you considered changing resorts if this is a big problem?

I would skip Disney transportation all together and go with a car service. It might be about the same price or even cheaper that way. His problem already started with trying to go cheaper. Cheaper, Cheaper, Cheaper, your going on a Disney Cruise. Cheaper is 300 yards away at the terminal, it's called Circus, or Carnival! Metrowon

just so you know Caribbean Beach is not next door to Pop Century. Disney only picks-up from Designated hotels w/ Land/Sea. Swan and Dolphin would be your closest. BUT if you are getting off the cruise they do drop off at every hotel on site. do a one-way car rental. Can pick up on site and drop off near port then shuttle back to port free w/several. PM me if you need more info.
