The free suite laundry & dry cleaning was still the same on our trip to Alaska in June -- absolutely no change and 24 hour turnaround if cabin steward received early in the a.m.

Who in the world told you there was no longer free laundry in the S suites? Not true.

Hello Peaches from Georgia,

On our trip with the Summit, we had a couple who said they had to pay for the laundry.
I just call my TA and tell them I want to travel and they know what I want. I will however call and have them check about the laundry.
Maybe after a few champagnes, I may have not understood:rolleyes:

Possibly your friends had a mini-suite which does have to pay for laundry, and not an S Deluxe Verandah Suite. Many people just say 'suite' and the perks are not the same. Enjoy your cruise (and the free laundry)!

Here it is again - big confusion between HAL's new wording of the various suites.

So many people read the word "suite" and don't realize that there is a big difference between Penthouse Verandah Suites (PH), Delux Verandah Suites (S), Superior Verandah Suites (SS), and Verandah Suites (A, B, BB, and BC). Some of these categories are not on all HAL ships.

ONLY PH and S suites get the free laundry and dry cleaning.

When HAL began this new wording, a lot of confusion began.

When we were on the Maasdam in November 2003, there was a couple in what used to be called A-mini suite. They insisted that because of the new wording of their cabin (Verandah Suite) they were entitled to use the Neptune Lounge. Our concierge spoke to them but it didn't make any difference. They still used the lounge. For an entire week, she had quite a problem with them. (And we bet they didn't leave her a tip either!)

Only on the Vista class ships where the room key is used to get into the Neptune Lounge is this problem eliminated.
