Hello,
Making plans to sail on HAL to Hawaii in October 2005.:)
Has anyone had a cabin aft? Either the FF section or close by? Was it noisy?
Was there vibration? Crossing the Pacific could be rough at times and maybe not but before we choose an aft cabin wanted to find out some answers. I do thank you in advance.

Would it be helpful to say which ship?

Have not been in an FF, but if you are looking for stability I would look at an inside K or outside D on the Main Deck-something around 600-601. They are quiet, midship, and low.

On the Veendam, we had category, I think, FF, it was an aft outside cabin anyways. It was on Main Deck, it was a quiet deck for the most part. We did have slight vibration from the engines, nothing that I would complain about. We were all happy in this area.

I suggest that you check out cabins in category "E", midships on Dolphin Deck. The closer to midships the better.
Are you planning on sailing Statendam or will you cruise on one of the other ships? How many days?

Carol,
We want to take the 15 days RT from San Diego to Hawaii on the Statendam in October of 2005. They have two dates, the 3rd and the 18th. We have not booked it yet as we are still trying to get the best price and each agent has a different price so we are waiting for the best one of course.

We have been on the Statendam in an Aft E, Main Deck. We are usually in the Aft cabins because they are the only quads (other than a Suite) on S-Class ships.
We had an FF on Maasdam (sister ship) and liked it just fine. There is a little bit of noise and vibration, but nothing noticible.
