Anyone Going on MV Cezanne -9/11/04

I'm going on the MV Cezanne with Uniworld on 9-11-04 and am wondering if anyone else happens to be going on this wonderful South of France voyage on the same day? ;) This will be my third European River Cruise and I actually work for the Company, and am happy to answer any river cruise questions.

I am just getting started in looking into river cruises. The one thing that I am looking for is the opportunity to see WW2 beaches. Does the cruise you are doing on the Seine have that built in ? Do you know how Deilman compares to Viking line ? Thanks.

Hi Kathie,

Since you work for the Company (I am assuming you mean that you work for Uniworld) and you volunteered to answer any questions about River Cruising, I do have a few.

We took a Viking River Cruise several years ago and were very impressed with how the Cruise Director handled the included shore excursions. Several of the passengers onboard had mobility problems --- one used a wheelchair, several used canes and one just had difficulty walking.
At each port, the Cruise Director made some accomodation -- whether it be a van so these folks could get back to the ship, or dropping off those who could not walk at the meeting point for those who could, or even just a special map with a limited non-escorted walking tour.

Does Uniworld do the same type of thing for their passengers with limited mobility?

What sort of included shore excursions does Uniworld have? Are they walking tours, or driving tours, or what?

We are looking at two Uniworld trips -- one to the Christmas Markets in Germany and one down the Rhine, but we are hesitant because we cannot find much information about how they handle their shore excursions.
